Sundays
We meet each Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Elks Lodge, 1141 Rt. 112 in Port Jefferson Station. In addition to the main session, we have classes for youth and children.
= After everyone gets settled, we begin with a time of worship, when we sing to the Lord, offering him our praise, thanking him, asking his help, allowing him to minister to us. During this time, people often share prophetic words from the Lord, giving direction to us as a congregation. This is an important way that we create "a place where God and people meet."
= We break to chat over coffee and bagels, then the kids and youth go to their classes.
= When the adults reconvene, we share any announcements, then a sermon is given. We preach in a pretty natural style, trying to relate scripture to our lives and our church. Pastors Lois and Paul Nash preach most often, but others preach as well.
= After the sermon we offer opportunities for people to give and receive prayer for personal needs, or in response to what the Lord may have done during church. Can you tell that we actually expect God to interact with us?
